Shonda Sue will return to Nashville to begin work on her fourth studio project this winter.
The project, a contemporary gospel album, will also be produced by Dick McVey and will feature a mix of originals and cover songs. The album is anticipated for release in the first half of 2003.
"Someday I would like to be featured on CMT, to travel the country in my own tour bus sharing my music with fans all over," Shonda Sue says. "But, most of all I want to be recognized by the music industry with a major label deal."
It has yet to be determined where her career will lead her, but Shonda Sue says it isn't entirely in her hands.
"The Lord gave me this talent and He will determine which path I take - whether it is a career as country singer or a gospel performer," she explains. "He has also blessed me with a tremendous amount of support from family and friends."
While she doesn't have the financial backing of a major label, she does have her own support system.
"We have been blessed with friends and family who donate their time to help promote Shonda Sue or who just show up at concerts to show their support. We are thankful for them all," says Kimberly Moore, her mother and booking manager. "This year we were blessed with a variety of new shows, giving us a more even blend of country and gospel shows."
It's a never-ending process, though there are occasional breaks for vacation. Now that the busy touring season is over, Shonda Sue will devote time to recording her next project, performing a few local shows and, of course, juggling practice, home schooling and church activities. |
