From the Friday, March 8, 2002 Weekend Section of The Indianapolis Star: It's a Girl Thang! So young, and already she's traveled in her own tour bus. What's a 14-year-old like Shonda Sue have to look forward to? A record deal with a major label and some national airplay would be nice. That's what the aspiring Indianapolis country and gospel entertainer is chasing as she performs tonight at 7 o'clock at Borders Books and Music, 7565 U.S. 31 South. Last summer, Shonda Sue realized one of her life's dreams (it says so in her bio) when her manager struck a deal with an RV rental company in Lizton, to tour various festivals and events while promoting the company. The young singer now is riding with booking manager Mom and promoting her own album, Girl Thang, a Nashville, Tenn., project released last summer. The album features five originals by various writers and some cover tunes. There's a stack of CDs awaiting autographs at Borders tonight. For more information about Shonda Sue and her dreams, visit her Web site at www.shondasue.com. |
